Mike Trout

There has been a lot of press on Mike Trout being MVP caliber. Over the past few years this data model showed he was a good player,  far above average, but clearly not near the best. I found it interesting that when the numbers ran today Mike Trout cracked the top batters spot for the first time this year.  I didn’t have this model put together last year so he could have had Cabrera like numbers mid season then as well.

Mike Trout’s career numbers can be seen here.

Note: Rank column represents rank amongst both pitchers and batters.
