At least Heyward brings plus defense. Batting average is a very poor indicator of value, especially early in the season. Here's what I have on Soler this season: XXXXX -0.19 Jorge_Soler_CHN LF He's only hitting 0.175 but Rizzo was down to 0.210 a week ago and no one would accuse him of not hitting. Soler is a little underwater but he still qualifies as one of Maddon's players who doesn't suck. Sometimes it takes time for players to grow into the league and finding good players is very difficult. Here is Baez: XXXXX 0.02 Javier_Baez_CHN 3B Baez is completely average even with a 0.300 BA. Here is Heyward XXXXX -0.02 Jason_Heyward_CHN RF Heyward is hitting 0.216 and he's right there with Baez in the doesn't suck category. Here's a guy who currently sucks: -166- -0.59 Starlin_Castro_NYA 2B He's part of the reason why the Yankees suck this year. I don't mean to beat up on poor Starlin. He's hitting 0.300 so I'm sure his fanboys who count hits instead of runs think he's doing great. Top Cubbies tomorrow....
