BAT is down as much as PITCH is up from last week
and the Cubs have finally flat lined.  No team can
maintain a 0.700+ winning percentage forever.

Arrieta maintained his perch for yet another week
and all other Cubs have fallen from the top ten.
Bryant is up from last week however.  Being in the
top 25 is no small feat either and the Cubs have
around 6 when an average team should only have
one player up there.

Here are the White Sox

Their two ace pitchers are carrying that team
and Frazier is doing very well.  The rest of
that team hovers around average.  They have these
guys in the bottom 200.

Blast from the Past

This day in 1935.  The Cubs won 100 games
that year and went to the World Series.  Date
prorated to 40 games because they started
later back then.

The Cubs were just a 0.500 team waiting to
make their move later in the season.  Since
there are about half as many teams those
4 players would be considered top 100 today.

Where's Gabby?  He's struggling a bit even
though he has a very good OPS+

He finishes 1935 like this

... and became a big reason the Cubs won
100 games and another example of the
deception in contrived formulas like OPS
